Still life photographers (Micheal Kay )

Micheal kay photography

This is just one of many photographers that do similar work to micheal kays and in his work he does still life which is taking an object of something and making look better then it is in a photo or has it is presented in front of the camera to show what an item is like or food and different objects.

These are a few of micheal kays work in still life photography in food like the bowl and the cup cakes shown above and in these photos it shows the life style this type of food holds such has the way its looks to fresh and well presented in the image.

In recent lessons:
In my lessons with steve i have done still life my self with shells and propsand with them i used the canon 5d mark 2 to do my work with and all i had to do was to place the lighting in certain positions to give the items better effects in the photo and i gave the shells a shadow like affect and focus on the presentation of them an how they where displayed similar to micheal kays work.
My own work:

This is one of the images of my own work i have took and this is what i did in my recent lessons with steve and showing how to use the lighting in the image and the shadow effect to make it look better in the photo its self and also in the image i have tryed to capture most of the detail of the shells them self.

Portrait photography (photo-shoot)

These are some of the photos that me and the other did for are portrait photography and the hole reason why we did this is to show that we can book the studio out and set anything up and do the same things by are self so we understand the equipment and how to use it .

Like in the recent lesson steve are teacher showed us how to operate stuff in the studio such has the setting on the camera and the lighting and other things.

These are some of the group photos we did on the day we booked the studio out and we did this to show what its like with natural shots and movements in a image but also the moods of us in the photos and the effects that bring the image out.

At the end of the day in the studio we edited a few of the images to make them look better but also test the with new things in the image to make them stand out more like the lighting in the image and other things like black and white but also other effects in the process.

still life photography :)

In my recent lessons with steve i did still life photography and in the lesson its were you take a certain object and you get the lighting i the studio we used to do different effects in the image such has shadowing g and other things to give effects on the object but also the image to make it look better.

Also in the lesson we used the canon 5d mark 2 to do the photos and the lighting in the studio and with the group i took a though photos a changed certain thing on the camera to make the image look better life the focus and the iso plus the lighting in the image but also the use of the settings in the camera.

This is a example of still life photography that i looked up on  the internet to show what i have aimed for with my work like i the example the complete dark background and the reflection off the floor giving it a better effects on the objects which is the rings it self.

Portrait images 2012

 In the lesson:
In my recent lesson i did these photos in the studio and we did portrait photography and its were we use different types of lighting to show the shadowing and effects in the person but there mood what they are in.

Also in the lesson we did group photos in the work to show the shadowing again but also in the lesson we took turns using the camera and the camera we took the images with was a canon 5d mark 2 and we used the camera stand keep it in place while we took the photos.

After the images were took:
After all the images were taken we edited them in the computer in the studio and put different effects in  the photos like black and white and different colours like blue and so on.

This was the camera that i used to do my portrait images and for the one in the future.

                                                                                                                                Canon 5d mark 2 :

Tomorrow (portrait photography) research

In my lesson tomorrow i will be putting more research on my blogger about the different types of photographers and the kind of work they do in the portrait business for the example i have already researched some of the photographers and put videos and images of there work together :

Irving penn                                 steve pyke

And in tomrrows lesson i be doing more researsh on the photographers and also putting the images of the protrait photographys from in the studio today to show my work and progress.

evaluation portrait photography (studio)

Today i joined up with some people and they were : gareth/matt/alex and josh and we went to see one of the people incharge of the cameras and equitment and when we managed to get a hold of him we got in to the studio which is where we did the protrait photography and has soon has we got the equitment that was needed such has the canon 5d mark 2 and we used the lighting and lamps in the studio which also helped use the shadows and effects to make the image look better and more intacted.

The equitment used in the process :
camera -canon 5d mark 2
lights and lamps:
This is the eqiutment that me and my mates used to do are project and in nit we had to do everything are selves to make sure we know what we were are doing in the process and in the assigment after we set the lamps and lighting and the white background was clear for the shots we started to take photographys of each other.
And also we were doing portrait and the hole reason for this is because we had to catch the life in the image such has someone laughing in the image and doing natural movements and then we also did group portraits to show how we all get on has friends but what the image is shown has when it has been took.

In the studio we also did single portrait photography which shows one person there expresions and natural forms such has laughter and so on and after we took the pictures we produced we edited some of them to give them different effetcs and colours and exspermenting with the editing software.

The end of the project:
At the end, one of my mates which was also in the assignment took the images home with him and we will get the rest of them in lesson tommorow and then i should be able to put them on the blogger to show what we did but also ones of my self in the work.

In irving penn work he does black and white photos similar to my other recent searches on photographers and in his work he shows different emotions and actions of what the people do in his images such has angry moods but simply happy but not looks to show what he is getting at in his work.

MIND THE GAP - Steve Pyke

Reasons why this video is useful:
The reason i like the video because steve pyke explains like how taking a picture is saying that its not has good has saying giving a picture meaning that you are doing them a favour but also for him self to show his amazing pictures and style of work but also the reason the people let him take pictures of him because i think he shows there true faces of them selves.

steve pyke

Steve pyke did a lot of portrait photography and he mostly did them in black and white images to show the different moods in the characters faces in the images.

In steve pykes work he did a lot of shadow photography portraits like when he uses shadows to change the effects of the pictures and there faces and what there mood are like in it.

Recent lesson:
In my reason lesson we did similar stuff to do what steve pyke did and in the lesson we used a thing called a flag which is black sheet that bounced the light off to give the picture more shadow and better effects and brings out the mood in the person face and after we edited them with a piece of software to make them look better.

Bit of history:
Steve pyke left school at 16 to work in a industry in local textiles has a factory mechanic and throughout his career Pyke has developed, funded and then published a number of personal projects which have given his work shape and thrust.
Pyke has worked for many of the world's leading magazines, and published eight books which concentrate on different aspects of his work.

evaluation-photography :)

In my recent lessons with steve i started photography and in the lesson i used a camera which was called 5d mark 2 and with the camera it was attached on a walking tripod and it was used to keep the picture but the camera more stable when using it.

This is a image of the camera i used in the lesson to do that task that was laid out for us and also there is a picture of the tripod stand we used and its called a cambo camera stand.

  • f-stop
  • iso
  • and shutter speed
f-stop-In the lesson we first learned how to use f-stop and with it you change the aperture and decrease it and the focal length of the lens.
so in the lesson we did tasks with the equipment to find out what different things are used in photography and the camera its self.
